Bait Werks is the brainchild of owner/artist Dwain Batey who has been airbrushing for 20 years, as well as being an avid tournament bass angler. The marriage of his two passions resulted in Bait Werks custom lure painting, and as they say the rest is history. Bait Werks paints for many of the leading professional bass fishermen on both major tours, as well as grass roots tournament anglers looking for an edge over their competition.
Bait Werks specializes in custom painting bass fishing lures such as crankbaits, topwaters and swimbaits. We paint baits supplied by customers, and we also have complete lures ready to fish for sale in our store. Besides bass fishermen Bait Werks also paints for striper, walleye, and musky anglers as well.
Bait Werks has a vast collection of “stock” patterns, though they are anything but “stock”. We also work directly with customers who want something specific that we have not painted before to develop exactly what they want. Bait Werks can also copy patterns from one brand to another, for example if your favorite color comes from “Brand A”, but your favorite crankbait is “Brand B” who doesn’t offer that color, we can custom paint them to match the “Brand A” color. We can also bring back old discontinued colors on your vintage baits, or even on new baits.
Bait Werks uses only the highest quality paints paired with a durable epoxy clearcoat. We use House of Kolor brand paints, and Envirotex epoxy clear coat. The result is a quality paint job that will last, protect your investment, and most importantly catch fish!
